Have you ever rested in the dark watching the sunrise brushed color by color across the sky? It is unique and beautiful every single morning. When it’s a clear day the colors are so vivid and bright. When it’s cloudy and hazy the colors still come through, stunningly muted. Occasionally clouds are strewn across the sky canvas. Each morning is a brand new creation.
I never had the chance to enjoy sunrises because I chose to roll over and snuggle deeper instead. Just recently over the summer I have been feeling called to rise early. Through prayer I’ve realized that I am a better mom when I have a chance to be alone first. I also have so many dreams and ideas in my head and I have the opportunity to work on them without distractions. Then when the kids make it downstairs we snuggle, conversations start, dreams and fears are told, precious moments that I lose if I cling to my sleep instead.
